Why Are We So Helpless Against Terror??

What is happening in India? Why terror has becom common now. Innocent people are being killed every other day in blasts. Who do we blame for this? Lame policies and laws of government? Or government itself?

Everyone is talking about the need of a tough law. But one thing that always come to my mind is, even if we have a tough law on terror, would it be sufficient to control terror? I mean even if we make a tough law on this, that law has to be enforced by Police only, which itself is so corrupt that they let criminals go, taking bribes from them. Even if we make a tough terror law, that would be in wrong hands of these uniformed criminals that we call Police, that would be rather misused than putting to a legitimate use. Would that do the needful?

Why we feel so helpless in front of this terror? Why not eliminate the root cause of the terror? Every terrorist and their links lead to Pakistan finally, so why can't we do something to disarm Pakistan? Why we feel so helpless when we know the root cause?

Why do we keep singing our Peace song, when now it is considered more of cowardliness. Our corrupt/useless politicians should look at the examples of Israel or USA. Israel is also suffering with Palestinian terror but they reply them in their language, if a Palestinian terror attack harm them, they retaliate with same intensity. They don't spare them in the name of peace, like we do. Look at the example of USA, a single attack on trade centre shocked US to the extent that they literally demolished the whole Afghanistan. And what about us? We are suffering coz of this terror since last 60 years, what did we do against it since last 60 years?

Well what can we expect? Our politicians and leaders are so busy filling their own pockets with Public's money that they don't have time to do anything else. After all, they have a Z+ security, they are not the ones who are suffering, they are not the ones who die in blasts, its common man who suffers, so why would they bother. This sounds a bit pessimistic but that's what the reality is.

Why can't we follow the examples of Israel or USA? Why not? Every common man has this question in mind now but nobody seems to know the answer. Every Indian knows that only solution to terror is retaliation to it with same intensity. Let them know we are peace lovers not cowards. I wish someone is able to find a better solution to this(if possible) but its high time that it should be stopped and terrorists should be answered in their language that they don't ever look towards India to spread this menace. Wake up government, stop worrying about your votes and start worrying about the country...

Want An Iphone? Better Think Again - Atleast Read This Before Going For It

Here is a review of Iphone from Economics Times, it should made it clear that Iphone is just a hype, nothing more than that:

"AFTER a few days of playing around with the new iPhone 3G, I’m convinced that Apple’s iconic piece of gadgetry is a misnomer. The “mobile phone” is clearly the most unimpressive and probably the most unimportant part of the third generation iPhone. It’s a great computer, or rather, a great mobile internet device—probably the best ever made—and it’s a pity that it’s debuted in the country before 3G networks are up and running.
The other pity, of course, is that the two Indian operators whom Apple has chosen—Airtel and Vodafone—have both decided not to subsidise the handset as AT&T, for instance, does in the US where it retails at $200 (approx Rs 8,600) with a compulsory extra charge by the operator for a two-year usage plan. At a whopping Rs 36,100 for the 16GB (which comes in black and white rear panels) and Rs 31,000 for the 8GB model, the iPhone is destined to border on being a luxury product rather than a mass appeal phenomenon.
The 3G iPhone has plastic rear panel and metal external buttons (the 2G version—which was widely available in Indian grey markets—had metal panel and plastic buttons). The ‘flush’ port allows use of any standard 3.5 mm earpiece you wish (the original iPhone allowed only bundled headphones, to the frustration of its customers). The smoother rounding off on the sides means that the phone’s dimensions have undergone a tiny change — too small to notice, but small enough to prevent it from fitting into speaker docks that were made for the original iPhone. Aaargh!
The actual phone itself is just a programme that you can access from the home screen and is average, to say the least. Simple things like transferring contacts from the phone to the SIM card or selecting multiple contacts are unavailable, while the SMS program lacks the ability to forward or copy-paste text. The absence of flash, auto-focus, optical zoom or video recording takes the camera well behind the curve. The saving grace is that pictures once taken, can be expanded or shrunk or moved around by literally squeezing them on the screen with two fingers or flicking them with a single finger. This is the quintessential iPhone experience and typically the first thing you would want to show off about your gizmo.
The “iPod” program that controls music and movies is great if you’re familiar with the iPod-iTunes system. If you’re like most Indian users who get music onto their phones through bluetooth transfers or memory cards, you’re in for a steep learning curve. After all there’s no external memory option on the iPhone and the bluetooth feature—which most other high-end phones exploit for data transfer and wireless music—is configured to only allow handsfree calling.
The star of the show is clearly internet browser Safari, which renders web pages better than any browser on any mobile device I have seen. Most websites are shown true to their form instead of scaled-down mobile versions and the multi-touch features allows you to easily move the page around, zoom in on the region you want to read and tap on a link to navigate. This single-handedly takes web-surfing into a new dimension compared to clumsy joysticks, keys or even a stylus. The iPhone 3G’s browser allows you to click and save pictures in web pages.
The crowning glory though is App Store, an online marketplace where users can download software applications. These apps could range from games to medical encyclopedias to social networking tools to online auctions to pretty much anything that one can use a computer for. The games are especially addictive since iPhone has no controls except one large screen button. All the movement in a game have to be controlled by physically moving the phone so that the accelerometer can detect which way you’re orienting the device. The 3.5 inch screen puts your gaming experience on par with handheld devices from Nintendo and Sony while the improved loudspeakers guarantee that the experience will be incredibly annoying to those in your vicinity if you decide to dump the earphones. Some apps are free to download while others cost anything from a few dollars to a few hundred.
If you’re an incurable gadget freak, then go ahead and add this to your arsenal—it’s geek heaven. But to the average consumer my advice would be to hold your horses and wait till 3G networks are in place before forking out such a large sum of money. Anyways, if you want a piece of the beautiful browser and App Store, then buy iPod Touch (Rs 16,000 for the 16GB model)."

And here goes the features:

PLUSES:

Pictures can be expanded or shrunk or moved around by literally squeezing them with your fingers
Assisted Global Positioning System
Google Maps comes pre-installed
Net browser Safari renders web pages better than any browser on any mobile device You can download apps ranging from games to encyclopedias to social networking tools from App Store, the online marketplace
The 3.5 inch screen puts your gaming experience on par with handheld devices of Nintendo and Sony, and it has loudspeakers Pushmail and enterprise-grade data security

MINUSES:

SMS can't be forwarded or copy-pasted
No external memory option
Bluetooth can be used only for handsfree calling
Camera does not have flash, auto-focus, optical zoom and video recording facilities
Options to transfer contacts from phone to the SIM card and select multiple contacts are unavailable
THE PRICE! At Rs 36,100 for 16GB model and Rs 31,000 for the 8GB model-against $300 and $200 respectively in the US-IPhone 3G looks a luxury

That proves Iphone is a crap. Nothing more to say now

Want An Iphone? Better Think Again Before Wasting Your Money

As I reported in my earlier post, Apple's Iphone 3G is not worth that much hype which Apple has given it. If you think that is not true, read what Economic Times's article about Iphone has to say:

"CAN’T wait for that first byte of the new iPhone? Well, you may want to visit technology websites, gadget blogs and even the company’s official discussion forums before jumping the gun. Just two days before the launch of the much-awaited iPhone 3G in India, the forums are being bombarded with complaints from users across the world about the new device’s reception problems, dropped calls and inconsistent internet speed.
Apple on Tuesday even released a software (version 2.02 distributed via the iTune) to rectify problems with its iPhone 3G, which sold a record one million handsets in its launch weekend after hitting the showroom in the US and 21 other countries on July 11.
The online backlash, however, has not made any dent in the demand for the most-talked-about mobile device, with its worldwide sales already topping two million. While Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar are all set to offer iPhone 3G in India, market watchers share the view that the online backlash against this iconic handset is unlikely to affect its sales here. “The maximum complaints have been about the dropped calls and poor quality of reception when this device is used over 3G networks. We will not have this problem in India as the country does not have 3G-enabled networks, (currently, all mobile services here work on second generation networks),” said an industry executive.
Bharti Airtel did not comment when asked if the increasing number of reports in global media and the cyber community over glitches in the iPhone would impact sales here. Ditto Vodafone. However, an executive with one of the telcos said Apple had assured his company it was looking into all complaints. “Apple has told us that it releases software updates to address any glitch as and when the matter is brought to their notice. So, if there are any issues with the 3G iPhone, Apple will solve it,” he said.
On Wednesday, cyber space was once again filled with complaints from customers who said that the software released by Apple a day earlier did not solve their woes. Users said that despite downloading the software update, the iPhone frequently switched from the faster 3G networks to the older EDGE (2.5G) network without warning or dropped the data signal altogether. Even on 3G, some users were disappointed by the performance, which seems far short of Apple’s promise that it would be twice as fast as the old iPhone.
Users said the new software has not led to faster web browsing speeds. A section of bloggers have been speculating that the earlier software update (version 2.0.1) is responsible for the bugs, but others claim it’s a problem with the Infineon HSDPA chipset. Apple, however, has so far failed to respond to the complaints satisfactorily. Blogs have been rife with speculation that the 3G iPhone has poor reception because its chip is programmed to seek out the best network. This, according to tech blogs, is the reason that iPhone at times chooses a slower 2G networks as these could be stronger then the 3G networks.
Globally, several users have also complained about some of the third-party applications on their handsets crashing or failing to launch. This problem was generally accompanied by another more serious issue where music and other media get erased from the iPhone."

Now think about it before wasting your Rs. 35000 on such a crap. Iphone 3G's users worldwide are reporting lots of issues with it, which Apple is not able to resolve. Still adamant on buying it?? Then keep reading my next post for an unbiased review of Iphone.

Iphone:A Potential Failure In India??

Finally, much awaited (or rather much hyped) Iphone 3G from Apple is going to be launched in India soon. Airtel and Vodafone are going to launch it in India. Now in India, Nokia is the leader with 60% market share.

Though Iphone is said to be much awaited but I feel it's just a hype. Coz if we go by some essential features (or rather lack of it) I guess Iphone is not worth Rs. 30-35K as the price is speculated in India. Let me tell you what exactly Iphone lacks in terms of essential features:

1. Bluetooth: Bluetooth in Iphone can't be used to transfer data between phone and other devices or computers. This is the major drawback of Iphone. Its bluetooth feature can only be used to facilitate a bluetooth headset for hands free voice calling. I don't really understand when more and more people are getting used to bluetooth for data transfer and hell lot of other things, how does such an iconic phone lacks such a basic functionality. As for me, I use my Nokia phone to connect to my laptop for internet access through GPRS. So if I go for Iphone I can't even do that. So providing bluetooth in Iphone is no use if we leave handsfree calling apart.

2. SMS Forwarding: We Indians are so addicted to texting and I keep forwarding SMS's to all my friends all the time. And Iphone doesn't have a SMS forward option. That means if I get a good text I can't even forward it to all my friends directly, I need to go to write message option than write that message and then only I can forward it. Absolute rubbish.

3. Camera: Iphone comes with only 2 megapixels camera, now when we are all getting used to 5 megapixels (thanks to Nokia) Iphone wants us to use 2 megapixels again. Moreover, being a 3G phone, when 3G is around the corner in India, it should have a front side camera too (for video calling) but it lacks it, means when we get 3G in India, video calling would not be that enjoyable experience with Iphone.

4. Sealed Battery Pack: Yes, Iphone comes with a sealed battery pack, that means you just can't open it or change it's battery, you need to get it to service centre if your battery goes faulty in near future to get it checked or to get the battery replaced. And ofcourse, coz Airtel and Vodafone are going to provide it with service agreements (probably), that would be all sealed along with SIM card and network locked.

Now I agree there are few unique features too that Iphone packs in itself but the lack of above features itself makes it a bad choice for people like me who are so dependent on their cellphones. And keeping in view probable price of Rs. 30-35K I would not like to waste my money on an Iphone.

I personally believe Iphone is nothing Great, it's just a hype that has been made by Apple. Correct me if I am wrong guys. My 2 cents...
